This first acting workshop is designed to help with monologue selection and execution. All attendees should come prepared to share a monologue that they are working on or are thinking about working on. The ensemble is designed to be an acting incubator for non-equity Black womxn actors to grow, share, and gain exposure.

Fatima Quander (AEA/SAG-AFTRA) has performed with FRESHH Inc. Theatre Company, since its inception. A native Washingtonian, she received her MFA from Actors Studio Drama School in NYC and her BA from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin.  

With over 20 years of experience, Fatima is a well accomplished professional actor, proud member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), with a proven ability to create and develop onstage characters that contribute to the larger ensemble and overall quality of the theatrical production; Master of Fine Arts degree from Actors Studio Drama School in New York City. As a local respected leader, she has been able to build highly motivated students focused on challenging themselves and achieving
their artistic goals. Use the most comprehensive and relevant discourses and theatre exercises to enhance both their learning and growth as students and artists of the theatre.

Furthermore, she serves as a teaching artist with a number of schools and programs throughout the DC area including FRESHH Inc.’s Griot Girls, Everyman Theatre, Poetry Out Loud, Folger Shakespeare Library’s McKee Fellows Program and Secondary School Shakespeare Festival, Sitar Arts Center, Jr. Discovery at Georgetown University, and YPT.
